Privacy Policy — Future Signal Uploader
Last updated: 25 October 2026
Future Signal Uploader ("the app") is a personal tool used only by the owner of the Future Signal YouTube channel to upload that channel's own videos. This policy explains what Google user data the app accesses and how it is handled.
1. Data the app accesses
When the channel owner signs in with Google, the app requests these YouTube Data API permissions:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.upload: to upload videos the owner has approved, and to set their title, description, tags, privacy status and thumbnail.https://www.googleapis.com/auth/youtube.readonly: to read the authorised channel's ID and name, and the list of its recent uploads.
The app does not access Gmail, contacts, Google Drive, viewer data, comments, or any other account.
2. How the data is used
- To upload the owner's own videos and their metadata to the owner's channel.
- To confirm uploads go to the channel the owner authorised, and to refuse uploads if the channel does not match.
- To check recent uploads so the same video is never uploaded twice.
The data is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics resale, or training machine-learning models.
3. Storage
The app runs on the owner's own computer, or in the owner's own private automation workflow. The OAuth refresh token is stored only there, in a file readable only by the owner or in an encrypted secrets store. Upload records (video ID, title, time and status) are kept in a local log so the app can avoid duplicates. Nothing is stored on servers operated by the app's developer.
4. Sharing
Google user data is not sold, rented, or shared with any third party. The only service the app sends data to is Google's YouTube Data API, in order to perform the uploads described above.
5. Google API Services User Data Policy
The app's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Use of YouTube data is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
6. Revoking access and deleting data
Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. After revoking, the stored token stops working and the app can no longer access the account. Because all data is held only on the owner's own computer, the owner deletes it by removing the local token file (data/youtube_token.json) and the upload log; no copy exists anywhere else.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change.
